Inspiration is often a lot closer than we realize. What inspires you?

“Do not wait; the time will never be 'just right.' Start where you stand, and work with whatever tools you may have at your command." -Napoleon Hill
I love the quote above and in the game of life my tool is my camera! I love to take pictures wherever I go and every situation would be turned into a photo shoot if I had my wish. I am honored to meet everyone that crosses my path and through the blog part of this blog-site I will get to introduce them to you!
So grab a cup of coffee, sit back, relax and come see the world through my eyes.

March 10, 2010 - 12:44 am - i am stalking you, you know and am very disappointed in your blog updates! haha!
February 2, 2010 - 10:52 pm - you do!!! :)
2011 Brides! You will have until February 28th to book your wedding at the 2010 prices. March 1st the 2011 wedding prices will be changing. I’m currently working on a new pricing guide (which is awesome!).
A photo I took while stuck inside during our nice little snow storm.

February 2, 2010 - 3:50 pm - OooOh, pricing guides, hooray! I just made one myself! Let me know when you've finished it so I can take a little peek! :)
This is Noelle’s 6 month-ish shoot (ish because she’s close to 7 months already). What can I say, my niece is adorable! She was so happy through the whole thing.

Look at that grin!

I love the little hand thing she’s got going on in the left photo.

Note the cute drop of drool from her chin in the right picture.

I already can’t wait to take photos of her again!

What an precious family! I had a great time taking these photos. Ava is such a little sweetheart and was great for the camera.

She is tiny for 6 months but she makes up for it in her scream.

Megan has a ton of stuffed animals from the 80’s. It was like flashback to my childhood. Alf, Rainbow Brite, Care Bears, My Little Pony . . .

Move over Gerber baby, there’s a new baby in town.

More from this session in a few days!
January 17, 2010 - 5:19 pm - you weren't kidding when you said cute baby alert! eeks! the cuteness is almost unbearable! tee hee
In case you haven’t noticed there are some big changes going on here on the blog-site, and more to come too!
Please hang tight as I make changes, every now and then things may go a little wonky (apparently that’s really a word).
Pictures coming soon!
Okay, finally! As a promised, a contest/sale to warm up these cold winter days (haha, though it has really begun to warm up these last couple of days).
The Details:
The 2010 sale/contest: Get a lifestyle session for up to 50% off this spring! (aka April and May) Why April and May? Because I love the look of spring, that’s why.
So how do you do this? It’s really quite simple, and there are multiple ways!
Facebook:
Step 1: If you are not already, become a fan of Chantel Klassen Photography on Facebook. If you already are, then you are one step ahead!
Step 2: Write something lovely about the photography group in your status and tag Chantel Klassen Photography (if you don’t know how to tag someone in your status go here). Just by doing this you have earned yourself $10 off a session.
Step 3: Invite your friends to be fans of the Facebook Page. Each friend that joins will earn you $10 off your session. (You will have to let me know which people you invited, of course).
The Blog:
Step 1: Leave a comment here on the blog, that’s $10 saved right there!
Step 2: Send your friends the link of the blog and get them to comment on here, $10 for each friend that comments (once again, you’ll have to let me know which friends of yours commented -oh and no cheating, just because you use more than one e-mail address doesn’t count. They have to actually be different people, and I have my ways of knowing!).
See, not much to it! You can do all of the above and get a lifestyle session for as low as $112.50!
The Nitty-Gritty:
1. The contest ends January 31 so all submissions (comments, Facebook fans, etc) need to be in by then to qualify.
2. Sessions need to take place in either April or May 2010.
3. The sessions need to be booked and the session retainers received by February 15.
I think that’s it! Go ahead and get started!
Here is a quick photo from last spring:

Well, Christmas has come and gone and 2010 appears to be here to stay. I have taken the past few weeks off (other than returning a few e-mails) and it has felt pretty good.
The only thing that has not been feeling very good at all is this cold, cold weather we’ve been having. Since most of you know how much I despise cold weather I am feeling in the mood for a sale/contest. No details yet, come back next week and I’ll spill it all (it gives you a reason to look forward to Monday).
While we are waiting for Monday to arrive, how was your Christmas? Mine was great! Spent a lot of time with family and friends.
Showing how much my husband loves me he got me this little number, it is a vintage camera from the 40’s. I love it! (I had to round the corners for this photo, it just seemed to fit)

January 18, 2010 - 2:14 am - haha, cool camera. nice to see the new blog! Love the design. Looking forward to seeing some of your new work - especially some of your wedding work. Always looking for great photographers to recommend clients to! Have an awesome new year and maybe we'll catch up some time!
January 11, 2010 - 3:14 pm - So can you actually use this thing?!!! Very cool
January 7, 2010 - 11:36 pm - That is a beautiful camera! Happy New Year!
We are down to the last two days of 2009, this is the time of year when everyone begins to reflect on the past 12 months and looks forward to the next 12.
2009 was a very full year for me. Let’s take a look back:
I completed my education internship.
I finished university.
I had 2 nieces born.
I photographed the number of weddings that I wanted to.
I photographed more portrait sessions than ever before.
Jared and I moved twice and are now in a home we love.
How about a look forward? What does your 2010 hold in store? For me 2009 closed many chapters of my life and I am looking forward to 2010 beginning some new ones.
Happy 2010!

Christmas time has come again. As a child I remember waiting for Christmas to come for what felt like years, but in reality it was just months. My favorite part of Christmas is being able to spend time with family and it what I am looking forward to again this year.
Have a wonderful Christmas!
